Customers should always double check the inclusions in their policies. Read the fine print. Clients must check if their policy will pay for their additional transportation and accomodation expenditures. Any policy with connecting flights coverage gives a minimum of 2 hours connection time from one flight to the next. Unforeseen events like illness of the insured or a close relative or a travel companion, jury service, redundancy or theft at home may call for a cancellation of the holiday. Clients are advised to buy their travel insurance plans after booking their vacation so that Cancellation Cover can take effect immediately. However, customers with an Annual Multi Trip policy need not worry in this regard. Customers, whose personal baggage were lost or damaged after a flight, must accomplish a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) before leaving the airport so they can claim. In case their personal possessions are stolen during their stay at the resort or hotel, it is a must for them to get a police report within 24 hours, as this is a prerequisite in most ravel insurance plans.
